Elements of Typographic Style Zine

The Brief: Take excerpts from Robert Bringhurst’s Elements of Typographic Style and create a zine using only type as the illustrative elements. The type cannot be stretched or distorted.

The Concept: Using Eurostile to complement a gridded and rectilinear structure,  create a  zine  that feels like a mid-century spy movie. Keeping the colors to black and white allows negative space abstractions of the text.

Obstacles: Unable to compromise the integrity of the type, but still having to create abstracted decorations.

Result: Use the type itself to create illustrations based on form using the negative space.
